Examination, Evaluation and promotion

📝 Examination Rules

  • Examinations are conducted according to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) norms and directives.
  • The whole Academic Session is divided into two Terms. April to September is the First Term and October to March is the Second Term.
  • Two Periodic Tests are conducted in an academic session. One before the First Term Examination and another before the Second Term Examination.
  • A pupil absent from an examination without grave reason will be considered as having failed in it.
  • In case of illness, an application must be submitted to the Principal’s Office. Re-examination will be conducted only for genuine cases after submission of a valid medical certificate.
  • All fees due must be paid on time before the commencement of the examination.
  • If a cheque is bounced, a penalty of Rs. 200/- in cash will be charged.
  • No student shall be absent during evaluations and assessments and under no circumstances will evaluations and assessments be conducted on a different date or out of turn.
  • Those absent from an evaluation and assessment will be regarded absent and that will affect their grading and promotion.
  • Unsatisfactory progress in studies, insufficient attendance, misbehaviour, malpractices during evaluations and assessments may keep a student debarred from examinations followed by disciplinary action.
  • 75% attendance is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 33% marks or a grade not less than D in all subjects is required to be eligible for promotion.
  • Achievement Record will be shown to parents after evaluations and assessments to assess the performance of their wards.
  • The results of Periodic Tests and Final Evaluation will be declared only after clearing all school dues.
  • Promotion is granted on the basis of the grades obtained in both the Periodic Tests as well as the Final Evaluation.
  • The result declared at the end of the year is final. The minimum passing grade considered for promotion is Grade D.
  • Compartment examination shall be conducted only for students who fail to get the required grading for promotion as per the board guidelines.
  • A student who fails twice in the same class, fails in the board examination, or gets compartment will not be permitted to continue studies in the school.
  • Students should obtain the hall ticket only after clearing all dues payable to the school before appearing for the Periodic Tests and Final Evaluation.
  • Examination Malpractice: Any student found resorting to unfair means and receiving or giving assistance in any form during Tests/Examinations will be awarded zero marks in the concerned subject and issued a warning letter. Repetition of the same offence may result in dismissal from the school.
